A linear guide rail, in conjunction with the appropriate linear guide carriages and with the aid of rolling elements, enables linear motion. By using balls or rollers between the rail and the carriage, an extremely precise linear movement can be achieved. Compared to a conventional slide guide, the coefficient of friction is significantly lower. The high efficiency and lack of play make the combination of linear guide rail and linear guide carriage suitable for a wide range of applications.
